Your birth.
Your baby.
Your way.

“If women lose the right to say where and how they birth their children, then they will have lost something that's as dear to life as breathing.”
― Ami McKay, The Birth House

Midwife

Why choose a midwife?

Midwives are trained professionals.

Midwives are the traditional care providers for mothers and infants with expertise and skills in supporting women to maintain healthy pregnancies and have optimal births and recoveries during the postpartum period. Midwives provide women with individualized care uniquely suited to their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs.

Midwifery is a woman-centered empowering model of maternity care that is used in countries with the best maternal and infant outcomes such as the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Canada. As midwives, our first and foremost mission is to serve the women and children of our communities.

Planned out-of-hospital birth with a skilled midwife is proven safe for healthy, low-risk pregnancies. Midwives in South Carolina are licensed by the Department of Health. Licensed Midwives have an outstanding record of quality maternity care.
