WHY IT MATTERS

It is not for government officials to decide where and how a woman may choose to give birth.

To remain silent in response to the cries of women and children is to be complicit in the actions (or often inaction) that are causing their distress.

As one woman described so well, "I'm not just protecting my rights as a mother... I'm protecting my daughter's rights."

Contact your representatives to voice your support for midwives in South Carolina.

Never be afraid to let your voice be heard. Be passionate, but never belligerent. Change will come as birth does - with effort, pain, and time - but let us strive to aid its coming with strength, resolve, and grace.
